Bienvenue

Hello and welcome. My name is Danielle Ridge. Let me start by saying that I’m not particularly fond of clichés, but “curiosity killed the cat” might be my least favourite. Curiosity has never killed anyone. Poor common sense has. And there’s a big difference. I think curiosity, or a desire to learn and discover and play and grow, is one of the most important aspects of any intelligent creature; and as human beings, I think we should celebrate and nurture curiosity. And what better place to do that than at a library!

I have just begun a master’s degree in Library and Information Science at The University of Western Ontario in London, and I invite you to discover all the wonders and trials and aspects of librarianship alongside me. And I promise, no cats will be harmed in the pursuit of this degree or the creating of this blog.
